Green-Line: GL-GEB-068 Topplerschlösschen 1:72.
The Topplerschlösschen is a small late medieval residential tower in the Taubertal near Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It was built as a summer house by Rothenburg's mayor Heinrich Toppler in 1388 as a so-called pond house, a special form of the festival house. It consists of a stone substructure in the manner of a defensive tower and upper floors made of half-timbering. It is surrounded by a moat that was flooded by a spring. If necessary, the water could be drained into the Mühlbach via the Fuchsmühle. Small mansions of this type were common in the late Middle Ages, but are extremely rarely preserved.
